Before, and during extreme weather events, heat waves or hot days, consider the following:<\/p>\n<p><strong>HYDRATE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hydrate with water before, during and after your round to compensate for what the body loses in sweat<\/li>\n<li>Avoid excessive consumption of \ufb02uids which get rid of water from the body and lead to dehydration, such as alcohol, coffee and high sugar drinks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>STAY COOL<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Try to arrange a tee time in a cooler part of the day<\/li>\n<li>Avoid standing or sitting in hot environments for prolonged periods before your round<\/li>\n<li>If it gets too hot, cool down in the shade<\/li>\n<li>Wear lightweight clothing including a sunhat and cover your arms, legs and neck<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SPEAK UP<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you begin to feel unwell, stop playing, tell your playing partners and seek help<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yeringmeadows.com.au\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/HEAT-POLICY-AND-GUIDELINES.pdf\">Please refer to the Club&#8217;s Heat Policy for further advice and information<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Stuart Robertson<br \/>\nClub Captain<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Preparation for golf in hot weather Playing golf during hot weather can pose a risk to your health.
