To be read in conjunction with the Temporary Local Rules<\/h4>\n

Effective from 8th October 2025<\/p>\n

If a player’s ball lies in or touches a seam of cut turf or a seam interferes with the player’s area of intended swing:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Ball in General Area. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Ball on Putting Green. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1d<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    But\u00a0interference does not exist if the seam only interferes with the player’s\u00a0stance<\/span>.<\/p>\n

    All seams within the area of cut turf are treated as the same seam in taking relief. This means that if a player has interference from any seam after\u00a0dropping<\/span>\u00a0the ball, the player must proceed as required under\u00a0Rule 14.3c(2)<\/a>\u00a0even when the ball is still within one\u00a0club-length<\/span>\u00a0of the reference point.<\/p>\n

    Penalty for Playing Ball from a\u00a0Wrong Place<\/span>\u00a0in Breach of Local Rule:\u00a0General Penalty<\/span>\u00a0Under\u00a0Rule 14.7a<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

    In addition to the above, in areas that are NOT marked “Compulsory GUR”, areas of bunker removal, newly renovated bunker surrounds, tree removal, or debris as a result of these works are Abnormal Course Conditions, and are to be treated as GUR whether they are specifically marked or not, and relief may<\/span> be obtained without penalty under Rule 16<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
