From today, Wednesday 25 June 2025, preferred lies are in play at Yering Meadows. Due to current course conditions, players may lift, clean, and place their ball when it lies in the general area (excluding penalty areas and bunkers).

  • The ball may be placed within a handspan (20cm), no nearer the hole.
  • This local rule will remain in effect until further notice.

Additionally, preferred lies of up to one club length remain in effect in all bunkers, unless marked as Ground Under Repair (GUR).

All newly turfed areas surrounding bunkers are considered non-compulsory GUR—relief is optional unless otherwise marked.
