HARVEY KELLY TROPHY

Harvey Kelly was on the Committee during the War years when the Club had less than forty members at one stage, and there was a shortage of supplies and services. He took on the position of Manager in an honorary capacity from 1942 until his death in 1945 and the trophy in his memory (decided on by the Committee) was first competed for that year.

It was noted in the Annual Report of 1945 that Harvey’s work and enthusiasm for the Club was an inspiration to them all.

The first year (1945) the trophy was won by R.L. Caughey (pronounced “Coy”) and this trophy… (a silver coffee pot) was recently presented back to the Club by a member of his family.
