An anomaly has been discovered in the handbook concerning Ties in monthly medals for men. It has had no impact on results over the last 2 years however it should be addressed. The rule regarding ties for monthly medals was changed in 2021 with the full backing of the Association at the time. Somehow the rule has crept back unnoticed into the handbook over the last 2 years (probably a computer error at the printers).
The Rule as it stands should read:
For all members (men only) medal days (Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday and Medalist of the year), a tie shall be decided by normal countback procedures recommended by Golf Australia unless determined otherwise by the match committee.
The rest of the wording in that section is correct. Sorry if this has confused anyone, it will be corrected at the next printing.
